Mount Abu, the hilly retreat

A pleasant retreat set amidst the lush forested hills; Mt. Abu is a green oasis in the barren desert scape of Rajasthan. The mystic natural beauty of Mt. Abu makes it a tourist’s delight. As per the national survey, about 650,000 tourists visit Mt. Abu every year. Majority of tourists (about 70%) hail from Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra. They mostly visit Mt. Abu for weekends and short breaks. About 20% of the tourists are from other parts of India and 10% from across the world.

Thanks to the Aravali range, at the southern tip of which this hill retreat is situated Mt Abu experiences cool climate throughout the year. The coniferous trees and flowering shrubs adorn this only hill station of Rajasthan and give it a green covering amidst the arid region of the state.
